Mary Jane 'JANI' Anderson (Stoffle)

I am having fun with the site and have sent private notes to all who've logged on and posted the beginnings of their Profiles. Maybe I'm just snoopy (never thought so but feel like it today having asked so many questions of people) It is so nice to read what all have been up to.  I remember some folks better than others but it is pleasant to read everything they've chosen to share. And these stories have me eager to hear what more they might post. I look forward to the reunion even more now. Gives one a 45 years later prospective of someone they knew when they were 17 or 18 years old.  A lot has happened in those years.

I hope this site grows and grows...by the 50th we should be in touch with everyone who is on the internet, provided they wish to be found.  Those 140 classmates missing from our database have a safe home to come to now.  We all need to remember to communicate our web address when we see a fellow mate.  (Think I'll carry a little Biz/C:  North High School Class of 1965                ...www.wichitanorth1965.com  to pass on to everyone I happen to run across).

Again, Sharon...GREAT JOB.   I am sending class address list for Reunion mailing tomorrow. If anyone has an address for a classmate, SPEAK NOW   316 259 8558 or andersonstoffle@gmail.com

I am posting to the Message Forum to suggest that everyone post here. Let the web builders know what you think of the site, pro or con. It can grow and be even better I've heard. (I take no website credit as I was no help.) Pass the word when you see a classmate and give them the site address, encouraging them to JOIN.  Let ME know... if you know someone on MISSING CLASSMATES...the list is too long.  Let us know about YOU and your FAMILY,  your HISTORY SINCE NORTH and YOUR STORIES FROM THOSE WONDERRUL...OR NOT SO WONDERFUL YEARS AT NORTH :-) on your PROFILE.  We have classmates who have traveled the world...are still traveling the world.  At least one of them plans to be home for this next reunion... (who??) Find them here.  We have an incredible class ... in so many ways.  Lots of award, lots of giving and achieving. Lots of obstacles overcome.  Many lives have been better because of so many things offered up by this class.  It humbles me.  This site gives us each an opportunity to hug a friend, old or new, who we may ... or may not have known well from 1961-1965 but may know better because we are now sharing ... a fresh, new opportunity.  We are older and wiser.

For those who have not had the good fortunate to live to 2010...lets leave a memorial message honoring them and their lives cut short.  They are missed.  (If you are aware of someone on our lost list who is deceased, let Sharon Powell Quincy know with a private message. She will try to verify before posting to "IN MEMORY".)

Lets remember we have this site and so make good use of it staying in touch and growing our base, visiting and chatting frequently.  The site alone may become a link to one another that may fortify us as we grow older.  We've grown from 0 to over 50 in less than a week!!

First of all, a BIG THANKS to all of the people behind the scenes and for all you have done, not only putting this website together, but to all of the hard word you are doing behind the scenes to make the reunion a success.  I know I see 4 or 5 names all the time, the people who are doing the majority of the work.  Thankyou Jani, and Sharon, and to all the others.

I think as we get older (more mature?) we can look back with much more appreciation than we did at some of the earlier reunions.  I, for one, really have enjoyed reconnecting with a lot of my Arkansas Ave. classmates, and Pleasant Valley alums.  Those Ark Ave days were so great simply because most of us started in kindergarten together and went all the way through North.  That is  a lot of time together when you stop to think about it.  It is almost like an extended family.

I look forward to seeing and rekindling some old relationships.  I have already found out that a couple of classmates probably live less than 5 miles from my house!  Looking forward to seeing you all in Oct.  Best regards, Ted

Janie and Sharon,

I just sent email invitations to 48 people who were not on the list. Hopefully, each of them will know someone they can send an invitation to.  Just noticed that Pete Morris has already signed on.

Jani and Sharon,

Just noticed that Lowen and Gini's email that bounced back is not the same one that is on their page -- I'm using gini2007@cox.net, is that right?

Janie, I've uploaded pg 14-25 of the yearbook pages. Just started page 26. This is slow going but the pictures aren't bad considering how OLD they are. Since I have the complete pages scanned also, are there any plans to add the entire pages in addition to the individual photos?

I would like to apologize for the quality of some of the pictures -- when I tried to enhance some of the photos for better recognizability, the photos take on a "plaid" look.  Don't know what causes that.  Also, my book has been well used and that may account for some of the problems.

It was funny to note that I was one of the Senior Class Editors for the Tower in 1965 (and am working on it 45 years later).  Again, my apologies to the 12 "kids" at the top of page 16 -- I don't know why no one caught those mistakes.  It looks like the two sets of photos just got switched cause they sure don't match up with the names.

Has anyone been able to use the chat feature?  I've tried several times but to no avail.  Maybe I just don't know how.

Thank you Marsha for adding the yearbook pictures!  I don't have a yearbook right now and it's great being able to put faces to the names.

Marsha, I have used the chat a couple of times and it works great.  I love it with our pictures, it certainly helps put names and faces together.  Good Work.  I really like the site.  I wish we would have started it sooner.  Many thanks to Jani, Sharon and all on our committee.  Let's worked hard at keeping this active. Can't wait!

Another thanks for all the hard work being done for the reunion.  I can't imagine how difficult and challenging it must be to find some of the missing people.  A big"thanks" to everyone involved.

I keep trying to register and pay on line but it keeps saying to update number of people. I guess I'll have to send it in. I changed everything to 0's and logged out trying to log in and do it again to no avail!

Okay now!

Besides putting in quantity for each day there is a little box above that when you scroll down you can't see - that box wanted quantity as well!  Very confusing to try to give money and no one would take it!  I printed my registration so now I'm all set!

Aug 31...less than five weeks and the reunion begins...for those from PV, see you at our little get together Friday at 2:00 (Park Villa).  Then on to MINISA  for our evening picnic which is always sooo much fun. I've heard that the Saturday nights event at Rolling Hill Country Club will be just fantastic....a true return to the past.... memories that will carry us all through to our 50th.   So many have done so much to make this a really outstanding event.  My thank to all.

Even if some cannot make it to this reunion, I trust that ALL that join this website will feel like they just attended a reunion... by participating here.  Hasn't everyone who's worked on this site done an outstanding job.  I have really enjoyed seeing people join and share.  And there is more to see and do every time I open it and read, and I have done more than my share of writing too. I feel I've only begun to get back in touch with old friends...and new acquaintances.  Seems I have more time to make connections here and now than I did in high school.  Getting old has its benefits.

If you have not yet registered for the reunion, do it now, while you are thinking of it.  Really looking forward to our events and feel we are going to have a great time.

A special thanks to all that helped in finding missing classmates. You know who you are ...  THX!!! (too many to mention) And Marsha, what an exhausting job, loading each of our class pictures, particularly in the midst of all else you've had going on.  Very commendable.

As always, we have had an outstanding leader.  Sharon took on the biggest job when she volunteered to lead the group in getting us all geared up for our 45th.  (Steve took a needed break). Sharon, you've been very innovative and never miss an opportunity to take us in positive directions.

Looking forward to seeing Ya'll!

Ted,

Are you buried in name badge requests?  This was such a generous offer; hope you do not regret as I envisioned your being inundated.   What size did you decide to go with?? I plan to bring some pin backs sleeves but want to get the correct size.  Could not print your example.

Thank you all so very much for the hard work you have done to create this web site. It is so wonderful, there are not enough words to describe how great it really is. I am so proud of all of you. I know the reunion is going to be just "Super".

Thank you all again,  Nancy

Janie, Sharon and Lanene,

I've made sure the pictures of Gary Alan and James Christopher Taylor match the yearbook -- however, there have been other mistakes in the yearbook, so please check out the photos and verify that these are the right shots for these guys. Thanks.

Marsha

Thank you all for your hard work for a fantastic web site and great reunion plans. Those of you who give your time for our benifit deserve a round of applause. I have not been to a reunion since the 25th. I hope we have all grown beyond the groups and make a point to visit with everyone we see. Life is to short and our memorial page will start growing and we should savoir all friendships. North High was a great experience for most of us and we should all be proud of our great traditions. We have all come a long way in 45 years and I've enjoyed reading about the journeys. I'm ready to shake hands, give hugs and meet spouses. Let the fun begin!!!!!!

Hi, all:

I'm in total agreement with all the kudos to all the folks who put everthing together including this great website and all the various plans and get togethers.  It's going to be a great weekend.

I did send a request to Ted about a name badge, although somehow I missed out on what we were supposed to do or pay.  In any event, I haven't heard back so can I assume I'm on the list?  Don't want to cause a problem, just checking.

Thanks again to all and I'm looking forward to seeing all of you.

Julie

I would like to give out a special Thanks to all of the eager Redskins who worked so hard on the web site, reunion plans, the pictures and just all that it entailed to meke this event be the great success that is to climax at 4PM today as those drums began to sound out with War Cry!!!!!!!  The committee will give a sigh of relief as the festivites began.  I just know you all will have the time of the millinium.  Putting the old tower picture along with the face book picture next to the real person, what fun.  Sitting with each other and just talking about how we made it this far.  After living the fast life, dragging Douglas or Hydraulic, Going to the ball games every week, going to after school dances, all of the community and church activities, who would have ever been able to guess our final outcomes.  We were all going in so many different directions, but I thank God that for the most part we were just normal teens and not troubled youth.  As you all enjoy the wonderful weekend planned, while just shooting the breeze withe each other just throw out some suggestions for help in pointing our youth of today in another direction that will be more positive.

Pigskin Pete, Senior Sally, someone HELP!!!  People are always looking for the answer for world peace.  I want to see a little more peace here in the United States, Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City what the heck even Wichita.  Peace in the neighborhoods / communities.  I would like to get off my block or out of my area and not feel that I have to be on my gaurds, ready to defend myself at this tender age of 35.

Classmates enjoy your Weekend.  Turn the music up.  No, wait, I thought I heard the drums.  It is 3 AM  it can't be, that sounds like WAR CRY!!!!!   boom boom boom........

Sharon Powell Quincy just wrote:  As Dr. Seuss said......... 'Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.'

Sharon always says correct, on point and fitting things.  Hope everyone had a good time.  My thanks to all who attended; and to so many who traveled many miles to join in the festivities...to you, a special thanks. I hope when you depart, you travel home safely with fond memories of your too brief visit home to be with your classmates and peers.  I look forward to staying in touch with each of you via this website.  May we become even better friends as we share here and on Facebook.

Janie, will we be able to upload any of the pictures we took at the reunion?  How will that work?  If everyone could share their photos, we'd have a great start at recognizing everyone at the next reunion. LOL

BTW -- thank you for all you've done for this event. It was wonderful and you and Sharon deserve a raise (oh, I'm sorry! You're a volunteer, huh?).  Good job!!!
