Again, with a heavy heart, we have news to share of the loss of a classmate.  Rick Jabara passed this afternoon, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 4:55.... his family at his side.  Rick fought a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis. His wife, Betty, shared that he was comfortable and at peace. Take comfort in that and also what a blessing it was for him and for us to be together at the reunion recently. Betty had mentioned that he was really looking forward to that night.  When plans are finalized, the details will be posted in this same way.

My dear friend Ricky, I am so sorry and unhappy reading of your passing. You were one of the few classmates I have communicated with in the past 55 years,I have kept up with several old friends and enjoyed all the pictures posted to this site but you and Sharon along with Bobby Billups are the hand full I've actually conversed with overtime. You were always such a great friend and such a cool dude to hang with through our high school years. I will always cherish my memories of our times spent together like poker games in my basement, the pool parlor across from your parents house, hangin at Riverside lounge, dragging Douglas in my old 56 Ford and you giving me a hard time about dating Cindy Farha and being a regular at Hi Fi Hop! These are only a few of the memories that wake me around 3 a.m. some mornings that make me smile.                                                                                                                                                       I know none of us are bullitt proof and God has a better plan for us all but my friend, I will truly miss you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.   Tom Pherigo

Oh, my heart goes out to Betty, Jocelyn and Travis. I babysat for the kids in the early 70s and got to know Rick better then. He was always so calm and patient with the little ones. I know he will be missed. I'm truly sorry that I didn't know he was sick -- I would have added my prayers to the hundreds of others that knew and loved Rick.

I first met Rick in the sixth grade when I entered Garrison Elementary.  Through the years through our senior year in high school Rick and I were classmates and friends.  The first time seeing Rick after graduation was at our 25th reunion in 1990.  I am very sad to hear about Rick's passing and my condolences are passed to Rick's family.

Rick and went to garrison, Mars shall and north together, we were together about every day when we were growing up. We went on numerous bad decision trips that made a few of his brothers not want us together, like borowwing his brother s car when we were getting out of 9 th grade to make our summer school is out trip to  Courtney Davis's swimming hole! Well Ricky wrecked his brother s car on the way home! Don't think we were drinking!! Then in the summer s we were together about everyday at the riverside inn! Sorry for our loss Betty and kids and all our great friends we had over the last 60 plus years!!!  Rest in piece LITTLE BUDDY!!

Rick Jabara was one great guy, although I remember him as Rickie.   After all these years, I was so fortunate to see him again at the last reuniont gathering.   He's someone it makes me feel good just thinking about him.  A wonderful person.  It's obvious he positively touched a lot of lives.
