Eduardo "Ed" 68, passed away at home Sunday, September 6, 2015. Visitation 1-5 p.m. Wednesday, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Recitation of the Rosary 7 p.m. Wednesday; Mass of Christian Burial 10 p.m. Thursday, both at St. Mary Faith Center, 2300 E. Meadwolark, Derby. Ed retired from the Oklahoma Army National Guard and Harlow Aerostructures, and served as General Manager for Raco Machine, Inc. in Mulvane. He was active in the American Legion Post 408. His Flag Etiquette Team was recognized by House Resolution Number 6069 for outstanding flag presentation. He was also District V Oratorical Chairman for the American Legion scholarship contest. Ed also achieved the honor of 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Brando (Heather) Mendoza and Mario Mendoza; parents, Benito and Mary Mendoza; brother, Martin Mendoza; grandchildren, Nico and Giovanno Mendoza; and granddaughter of the heart, Jaycie Bishop and Chelsea Fabrizius; great-granddaughter, Myra Fabrizius; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with American Legion John M. West Post 408, and St. Mary Faith Center. I remember Edie really well.  He always had that great smile and would be laughing.  God Bless his family.

Eddie was a vey good friend, one of my closest friends at Horace Mann Jr Hi, such a great guy, everyone liked him and for good reason, praying for the peace and comfort of his family.
