Kathy Sawyer was my 2nd cousin. We had gym class together and when they called roll, the
teacher said "who" and she answered "Kathy Sawyer, as in Tom!". She was a teacher
and she married the principal! He joined the school board in Medicine Lodge where they lived
when she died on Christma Day of a brain hemorage while in Colorado visiting his relatives in
1996. She was buried at Old Mission Cemetery where our great-grandmother and great-
grandfather are buried, (Oscar Williams) along with my grandmother and grandfather (Alonzo
and Mary Williams) and my mother (Inez June Brown). Having no children, her memorial went to
the parakeet society.

Kathy was extremely talented -- she was active in all the Journalism classes with Mrs. D(rowatzky) - Quill and Scroll, North Star, Tower; and she was a lab assistant in science, Future Teachers, Red Arrows, Honor Pep and Y-Teens. She was good at everything she tried and had a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable. I'll be she would have been a great teacher.

Kathy & I just lived a block away, so we carpooled together, went to Camp Fire and church together. We lost touch after North, but I'm sure she was a great teacher.
