I remember Dennis as my first "boyfriend" and my mother loved to tell the story that I asked if when we got married we could live with my parents.  I was 5 years old and my parents lived with my grandmother (mother's mother) until I was 5 so I thought that was what you did when you married.  I wonder if I would remember this if it were not for my mother retelling the story.  Our mothers were good friends and belonged to a local club called the OK Sewing Circle.  I was the only 4th generation member of that group as the only 3rd generation members were my mother and another woman who had only a son.  Through the years there were many social gatherings that included our families.  John Clark also remembers this group of special ladies.  Partly because of this group of older women that included me, my husband has said I was "old" when he met me (I was 25 when we married).   The women in this group did provide special friendships with people like Dennis, Donnie, and John and others throughout our lifetimes.  I also remember in Kindergarten at OK School during "nap" time that Dennis, Mary Seavey, and I and one other person that I don't recall would have our rugs or mats facing each other and I'm guessing we didn't do much "napping."  I also remember fun times of games in the Schroeder basement with amongst other things a pin ball machine.  I think Dennis and I were in typing class together at North, I don't remember what other classes we shared.

My mother kept me up on the family until she died in 2003 and I have missed knowing what was going on in the recent years.  I used to send out a Christmas letter every year and hear from his parents until they died.  I gave up that Christmas letter after my children left home and moved away and I regret that I have lost touch with too many people since then.

I do ask God to grant the family and friends the peace and comfort that only He can provide in these difficult times.

Dennis lived down the block from me on Salina Street. We were good friends throughout Woodland, John Marshall, and North. We also were in Boy Scouts and went to Woodland Methodist. It was a great neighborhood to go up in. The  furthest either one of us had to walk to school for the first ten years of school was about two blocks. I remember one time in Sunday school class our teacher was talking about Jesus turning water into wine, Dennis responded that he could do the same thing with his chemistry set. Dennis had some weights and throughout the summer before going to North we worked out in his garage getting ready for football. So sorry for his passing. My thoughts are with his family.

Sympathy to Dennis' family and friends.  It doesn't seem that long ago that we were seeing him in the hallways and class rooms at North or on the basketball court or football field.  Dennis and I were also members of the class of 1969 at Friends.  When we passed each other, we would exchange "Hi Dennises."

Dennis was a great guy. He set behind me many times in classes at Woodland, Marshall and North if we set alphabetically. We had a great time. (Not when he pulled my pigtails!) And we were also together in Sunday School and MYF at Woodland Methodist. Always fun to see him again. Rest in peace Dennis.
