GALESBURG — Stephen G. Shockey, 74, of Galesburg passed away at his home at 1:55 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2021.
Stephen was born on July 23, 1947, in Wichita to Virginia (McElroy) Dittman and graduated from Wichita North High School.
He enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served the country until retiring after 20 years of service. Most recently, he worked as a monument sandblaster for Wilbert Funeral Services in Parsons.
He was united in marriage with Madaline Hoge (Sale) Shockey on Jan. 23, 1987. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a brother, Dennis Ray Shockey; a daughter, Stephanie L. Shockey-West; a stepdaughter, Shannon L. Birmingham; two grandchildren, Taylor R. West and Jamie West; and two stepgrandchildren, Brooke Noel Osborn and Triston Osborn.
Mr. Shockey has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Oswego for cremation. No services are planned at this time.

My condolences to Steve's family and friends. Steve played basketball with me at North. He was a good friend who could shoot the ball well. Steve and i lived on park place one block apart. We went to Waco, Horace Mann and North. He was one heck of a athlete. He has a brother Dennis who accomplished alot in athletics at North.
