I remember Steve from P.V. as shy and always smiling.  I knew he played the trumpet in orchestra but didn't know how good he was until he played a solo during a school function of some sort.  He just blew the doors of the place!  I don't remember him saying much but I do remember how talented he was.  RIP Steve.

Steve and I walked togather at graduation.  He was such a gentleman and really a sweet man.

I think about him a lot.

Steve and I went to PV together and worked at two grocery stores. After North High we worked at the  Farha store on north 29th street. Steve got sick and quit coming to work, I did't think much about it I was sure he would be back in a couple weeks. Time went on and one day Steves Dad came in the store and I ask him when will Steve be back and he told me Danny I don't think Steve will be coming back. Steves father was such a good Dad like we all try to be , as I write this it makes me so sad, at the time I think I physically got sick. God I hated to lose that guy.

I was already in Houston when I got word about Steve and to this day I remember it took my breath away.  We had been friends since PV and I could depend on him.  He was the first friend my age that I lost and he's still missed.
