Otha T. (Ted) Wright, 71 of Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday April 8th unexpectedly of cardiac arrest. Ted was born April 5, 1947 – born and raised in Wichita, KS. He attended Wichita State University. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in the summer of 1967 and later honorably served in the Vietnam War. He married Gwen Suan Yocam on October 26, 1967. Together they raised their three beautiful children. Ted loved his wife and family fiercely. He spent most of his free time attending his grandchildren’s extra-curricular activities. He enjoyed his weekly Friday movie and dinner date night with his wife, Gwen. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball. He so looked forward to his weekly bible study with his best friend Bob Hodgdon. Ted loved the Lord God with his whole heart and has known Jesus as his Lord and Savior since the age of 30. Ted is survived by Gwen, his loving wife of 50 years, daughters Kristin and Carie, son Caleb (Jessica), and grandchildren Bailey, Evan, Samuel, Sofie, Lukas, Claire and Lauren. Visitation will be held this Friday, April 13th at 5:30pm with memorial service at 6:00pm at Legacy Christian Church – 10150 Antioch Rd., Overland Park, KS 66212 Family graveside service with military honors will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Revelyn Kay Satterlee (Alpaugh)

I didn't know Ted in High School, but Don and I became friends with Ted and Gwen through a Bible Study later when we all lived here in the Kansas City area. We had a wonderful time, and even did some traveling together. Ted was a great guy and a lot of fun. He will be missed.
