I went to Pleasant Valley and North with Phyllis.  What an athlete!! She put us all to shame on the softball field.  If there were baseball major leagues for women, Phyllis would have been on a winning women's major league team.  I do not know when I first heard of her death (it was many years ago) and know no details. I hope heaven has baseball fields as I know she is on them.

I played summer softball with Phyllis from 1962-1966, along with Virginia Wells.  The three of us won all school sfotball games with other high schools every year at North.  She later moved to California and died out there.  I visited her mother shortly afterwards.

I went to Pleasant Valley and North High with Phyllis and remember so well her atlehtic ability.  I also remember how proud her father was of her baseball ability and would take her to her games and coach her.  They had a close relationship.    She died too soon and I am only learning of her death from this memorial site now.  It makes me sad I did not know sooner.
